The tractor-drawn and truck mounted spreaders are
hydraulically operated with pressure relief valves set at 1000 psi.
Their conveyor chains operate from a ground wheel and there are two
speed settings for more accurate control. Electronic drive on truck
mounted models is available.
In 1940, Morris Sellers began building dry fertilizer
spreaders for Conibear Spreader. Around 1970, he started his own
company, M&D Diamond Spreaders, with an improved design.
Following his retirement in 1998, he sold his company to James L.
Myers, who has extensive knowledge in spreader manufacturing. Desoto
Machine Shop will continue manufacturing the M&D Diamond Spreader
with the same quality and features that make this spreader unique.
The M&D Diamond Stainless Steel Spreaders have 3/16"
S.S. fans 24" wide. The sprockets and chains run in oil away
from the fertilizer. The high and low range on the stainless steel
mat chain is controlled by a simple pull of the handle, thus
eliminating the handling of the roller chain. The unit is
hydraulically driven for maximum fan speed from the external 540 pto
pump. The ground wheel is also hydraulically engaged with the clutch
system to prevent the conveyor chain from reversing when the unit is
backed up. The hopper is made out of 3042B, 10 gauge stainless steel
and the frame 3/16" stainless.
A small tree attachment, mounted on front of the spreader, has
an electronic control box to set pounds and cycle rate.
Units available as follows:
6 ton truck mounted with hydraulic driver or ground wheel driven.
3 or 5 ton stainless steel tractor pull.
Option: small tree attachment
